Don't you just love it when a book makes you giggle?! Everything about this book inspires a case of the giggles for me. From the design of the book to the collection of poems, I enjoyed this book of poems for children. (Okay, okay! Adults will love it, too!) The opening poem is by the beloved Eileen Spinelli saying her goodbyes to summer(?). Very touching and perfect for setting the tone to getting about the business of poetry (and school work?). I say this to be ironic. The book is so cleverly done that is draws you into the word play and the visual play as well. But I must confess, the one poem that left me wanting more is the "Chorus for Four Frogs." It would have been more fun to have four voices to recite it, but I managed to pull it off with my lone voice. Gleeful was the end result!
